Early Onset Type I Diabetes Program

Purpose: 


The objective of this Early Onset Type I Diabetes Biospecimen Collection Program is to support advancements in medical diagnoses of children's diseases.      


What to Expect: 

 

Participation in the Early Onset Type I Diabetes Biospecimen Collection Program includes periodic visit to the medical research facility. Qualifying participants may be compensated for their time and travel.


Eligibility Criteria: 


  • Subjects must be between 14-17 yrs of age and must have at least one parent provide informed consent.
  • Subjects must be deemed to fully understand the study by a qualified clinical study researcher and provide written assent to participate, or if a subject is deemed incompetent, either legally or through an assessment of the subject’s mental capacity, a waiver of assent shall be allowed, and the clinical investigator or a qualified train representative of the Investigator site shall document this by signing the appropriate section of the verbal or written Assent Form.
  • Subject must be willing and able to donate the required biospecimen.
  • Subjects must be self-reported viral negative.
  • Subjects must have a confirmed active diagnosis of Type – 1 Diabetes. Early Onset Type 1 Diabetes donors need to be diagnosed within the last 6 months.


Length / Duration:  

Participation in this study includes follow up visits to the study site.
