Functional Constipation Study

Purpose: 

The Functional Constipation Study is researching the effectiveness of investigational treatment for constipation in babies and children. If your child qualifies and chooses to participate, they could have access to a new investigational treatment option that may help improve their symptoms. 

What to Expect: 

Volunteers will receive all study-related care at no cost. Participants may be paid for each study visit they complete. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

Your baby or child may be eligible to participate in the Functional Constipation Study if they:

• 2 to 5 years of age (inclusive)  
• Experience constipation 
• Infrequent bowel movements 
• Hard stool  
• Painful defecation 
• Abdominal pain 

Length / Duration:  

Participation in the Functional Constipation Study lasts approximately 36 weeks and includes phone calls, telemedicine visits, and visits to the study site.
